Municipality of Plovdiv and AHK’s campaign in German media, aimed to promote Plovdiv as an attractive investment destination, has ended. The result – 52 German media sourced announced Plovdiv as the New Investment Hotspot of the EU.
The article was published in some of the leading online newspapers in Germany, including Der Tagesspiegel, Berliner Morgenpost, Online Focus, as well as in one of the largest dailies in the country – Süddeutsche Zeitung. A number of financial and business portals have also shared the opportunities that Plovdiv offers to investors.
“Germany is the leading country for foreign investment in Plovdiv and it is important for us to be present with positive materials in the German media. 2021 was one of the best years for Plovdiv and the region – the industrial zones have expanded significantly with many new Bulgarian and international projects, “said Deputy Mayor for Business Development Stefan Stoyanov. He added that the BusinessDevelopment Department at the Municipality continues to actively seek opportunities to promote Plovdiv as a favorable place for investment and life.
The German media define the formula for success of Plovdiv as a combination of high quality of life, well-developed educational network and qualified human capital.
“In the last 20 years, the second largest city in Bulgaria has become one of the most important industrial centers in Southeast Europe. The good location and skilled workforce have led to the establishment of hundreds of international companies in the region. Plovdiv is the industrial leader of Bulgaria with over 70,000 employees and the second IT and Outsourcing center in the country with over 7,000 employed in the sector. In the period 2019-2021, over EUR 3 billion worth of investments have been made for the acquisition of fixed assets – a sign that the local ecosystem creates favorable conditions for the development of all types of industries, even in times of economic instability, ” the publications said.
Only 2 weeks ago Plovdiv earned yet another prestigious award by ranking in the top 3 in the Financial Times list of Cities with Best FDI Strategy 2022-2023.
