“We wanted to respond to the rapid development [of technology] and Plovdiv and the local ecosystem were the natural choice for our new production base,” said Mr. Kalin Georgiev.

Cimcoop’s main activity is the development of infrared optics and unique for the country and the region technologies through partnership with foreign experts. Their products are used in military equipment and weapons, cinema, security cameras, medical equipment, the automotive, air and aerospace industries, and others. Cimcoop is entirely export-oriented, with some of its largest markets being the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Israel.

Mr. Kiryakov noted that this investment is an example of the fact that the Bulgarian economy must develop in the direction of high technology and high added value.

The new production base is equipped with the latest generation machinery, with most of the processes being fully automated and digitalized. The newly opened plant will employ 50 highly qualified specialists, with CEOs Georgi Georgiev and Kalin Georgiev planning to reach 120 people in the next 3 years.
